Gaspar – Spooky

Guitars, horns, sequins, plateau-boots and afro hair. That’s what it’s all about. And possibly Daft Punk, Cassius and Giorgo Moroder. Get the picture?
70’s disco!!!

Gaspar are 2 DJs/producers located in Thessaloniki, Greece – DJ Kid Stretch & 70th Floor. Southside Recordings has been trusted to sign Gaspar’s first release. The faith in our label is so great, that they have given us their ”best track”. And what a nice honour it is with this sparkling thumping sensation.

”We often team up with live gifted musicians to create our own music.
We are heavily influenced by the 70s. When we hear something good, and decide to make something of it, we build on it, add our own flavor to create the Gaspar sound. For Spooky, we found a killer sample, added our own elements and made it bounce! To us, Spooky is a killer track, we just love it!”

Hmm.. Sensation and love in the same presentation? And the 70’s in our mind? Southside Recordings is pretty damn sure even Loletta Holloway would have called Gaspar ”A Spooky Love Sensation”

Jack Hodinson – Magnet

As the tempo nowadays is a bit on the downslope with deephouse, we thought it could be interesting to go the other way around. We’ve signed a new artist, influenced by the trance-genre, making his track in a whopping 130 bpm’s

Jack Hodinson, 24 years of age, calls his track ”Magnet”. He’s says he’ s got his inspiration from the Marvel Comic ”X-men” first and most famous adversary, ”Magneto”. And yes – here at Southside Recordings, we can clearly hear it. There’s elements of a battle between both house and big trance. We emediatly thought of ”Three Drives On a Vinyl – Greece 2000”. A clever arp runs through the track, creating a glue and the typical dreamy feeling.

In the presentation from Jack Hodinson himself:

”My first EP called “Way Of Control EP” released on Phantom Recordings, received support from Myon & Shane 54, Antillas and it was played in Outwork Radio Show. Next was a track on Electric Fist Recordings followed by “Hotel Brooklyn”, released on Dbeatzion Records, supported by JL & Afterman.”

Lots of stuff going on with this guy. Let’s hope Jack Hodinson is our next Marvel.

Southside House Collective Feat. Gramma Funk – Off The Wall

One does not simply team up with the legendary lady Gramma Funk. But the three Swedish DJ’s & producer guys in Southside House Collective, iTod, Junior & J.J, have proven their hit-producer talents lately, and their new single ‘Off the wall’ is just released, now with the vocals of Gramma.

The track is a funky, stompin’ track that refuses to be defined by the classic rules on EDM music. It’s breaking barriers, and leaping right into a new refreshing, laid back sexy, and addictive sound.

”I see you baby – Shakin’ Dat Ass” by Groove Armada & Gramma Funk, remember that? We sure do! And the remixes from Fatboy Slim? Oh lord! From that moment on, there was no ending in her success. Films, television, compilations and commercials – the song was all over the place! We’ve teamed up with one of our idols since the dawn of time, and we’re unbeilevible proud!!” Says the exited DJ collective.

Since the beginning of the three dance music masters collaboration back in 2008, they have been on the same stage as Axwell, Avicii, Martin Solveig, David Guetta, Felix Da Housecat, Fedde Le Grand, Swanky Tunes and many more, in both their home-country as well as in Spain, Denmark, Portugal and even Mozambique.

Having played on Nova Era Beach Party, Copenhagen Beach Party & Calpe Festival venues just to name a few, they’ve also got their fair share of radio-plays, in countries like Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Great Britain and Portugal, with songs and remixes like ”Can You Feel The Love”, ”Turn On The Radio”, ”Fired Up”, ”Six Feet Under”, ”Saxistic”, ”You And Me” and ”Tonight, Tonight, Tonight”. Their releases have got support by many big names like Roger Sanchez & David Guetta, and the new single doesn’t seem to let their new hype down.
